"We took it upon ourselves: Let's be smart,"
Jimenez said in an interview Monday, when
asked what steps the Orange Show was taking
over the past year to avoid a repeat of a
riot that followed a March 2006 concert.
(hold it damnit, no
complaining about the rock songs. see I
figured that by now you've all heard "lip
gloss", so I tried something different. so
off my ass please.)
Hip-hop has “died” so many
times that it is an obsolete cliché to even
say so by now. It died when Biggie and Tupac
died. It died when Eminem was born, and it
died again when he won an Oscar. It died
when Method Man starred in a deodorant
commercial. It died when MC Hammer was
invented. Where are all the dorky
journalists complaining about rock-and-roll
being dead because emo is so retarded?
Nowhere. They don’t exist! You know why?
Because rock music has been dead
for-fucking-ever. It’s been dead since the
Beatles broke up, or since Altamont, or
since The Osbournes, or since who even gives
a shit?
“Whats good? I was sitting
down in my office, sipping my coffee, and I
pulled up allhiphop like usual, check the
news, check the rumors, and I see myself
getting blasted for having a jay-z verse on
my chest. I’m far from stan, but Jay to me,
is the God Mc, the greatest rapper alive,
and I’ve been listening to him since day 1,
1995-1996 Reasonable Doubt days.
The verse
on my chest is from "Where have you been?"
off the Dynasty album. Beanie and Jay are
rapping about growing up without their pops
being in their lives, and listening to that
song, and also being able to relate to that,
inspired me, and helped me realize that I
was not the only one going through that, and
that you can make the best out of a bad
situation. So I saw you were clowning me on
the site, but I’m a real dude, and it’s
true, I’m white, but to me were all the same
color underneath. I love the site, keep up
the good work. The Roc, Dynasty continues”
